A magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred at 12:52 on September 5,in Luding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan, with a focal depth of 16km. As of the evening of the 6th, the earthquake had killed 74 people and damaged the communication infrastructure.
